DIANNE MELICHAR :: KEYBOARDS

D.O.B. August 16th, 1978.
Birth Place Melbourne, Australia.
Musical Influences Heavy Rock, Classical music, Jon Lord and Rick Wakeman.
Interests Medieval times, comedy films, Yoga and chocolate.

Dianne’s interest in music was inspired by her brother and father, both of whom played the guitar. She took a liking to the keyboard at the age of 5 and later progressed to playing guitar. Dianne frequently performed at public and school recitals, often alternating between the two instruments.

She was interested and exposed to many styles of music, not necessarily always of the heavy genre and this helped her to appreciate and incorporate these elements in her own musical ideas. Despite never having a professional keyboard lesson, Dianne pursued her own techniques, and composed her own material on keyboard and guitar.

After the school years, she was involved in a few early bands with guitarist Anthony Tabone, who both sought for a group in which all the members could share the same visions and challenges in creating a classic, yet powerful style of music, (“..without being ‘afraid’ to use a female keyboard player in a heavy band...!”)

Equipment: Roland and Kurzweil Music Systems / Fender Amplification.
