New Drummer

Hi everyone,
As mentioned previously we have been searching for a permanent drummer. We would like to announce we have found our man. On behalf of Crimsonfire, we welcome Nuri Abdulioglu to the band. We are all looking forward to showing you our new line-up at Central Club on the 29th of July!

Nuri's Bio

How did you meet the band?
In late 2010 I decided to move to Australia and began looking for the right band to join. The right band for me was a band that played progressive metal with great vocals and melody. After responding to an advertisement for a drummer and speaking to guitarist Anthony Tabone, I realised that Crimsonfire shared the same passion and respect for the progressive style of Metal such as Symphony X and Dream Theater. After only 1 jam session I was welcomed into Crimsonfire in 2011.

When you first heard Crimsonfire what made them stand out as the band you 'must play in'?
When I first listened to Crimsonfire's debut album, I knew that I had found everything I was looking for, great vocals, great melody and a group working together to achieve some awesome music.

What caught my attention was the sound quality of Crimsonfire's live performance which sounded exactly like the album recordings. This was important for me and was a huge positive. The band members were very friendly, down to earth and welcoming.

What is your musical background and influences?
My musical interest began at the age of 14 when I attended my very first local heavy metal concert with my older brother in Turkey. I then began listening to more heavy metal music which led me to take up drum lessons. In my school years I played in a number of local bands and in 2010 I recorded my first album in a Turkish Metal Band.
My band influences are Symphony X, Dream Theater and Testament.

What equipment do you use?
- 7 piece black Tama Superstar;
- a mix of Istanbul and Alchemy Cymbals; and
- Iron Cobra Twin Pedal.

What do you expect to bring to the band?
I expect to learn a lot from the band and equally contribute to the band. In the next few months I look forward to working with the group contributing to new material. My first show with Crimsonfire will be on July 29th 2011 at Metal Central, 293 Swan St Richmond.

Metal Central gig – 1st April

Hi Folks,
Thank you to everyone who came to see us at the Central Club on April 1st!! A special thankyou goes to Ozzyfrank, Peter Fundeis and Gary Carson for organising the night, Ben Johnson for doing sound and Vicky for doing the door.

Here are some links to some pictures from the night;

The mood was energetic, exciting and it certainly felt great for us to be back on stage again. It was also our first show with bass player, Damian Brede (awesome work Omad!) and joining us for a special encore performance was Dom Pinto (you rocked it Dom!) We are blown away by the support of you all, even though we have been away for a little while, which brings us to write this on our website and let you know what has been happening.

Crimsonfire have been away for some 3 years due to an illness which has permanently affected Dom, our drummer. This hit us all very personally, suddenly and unexpectedly which is why we have kept it private to protect our band members. With our passion for writing music and the incredible support we’ve had from family, friends and fans of the band, it has inspired us to keep the (crimson) fire alive.

With that, Dan Presland has been assisting us on drums as a session musician and made it possible for us to bring our music to the stage once again. (Thanks Dan, you ROCKED and are a champion!!) We will continue to work with Dan where his busy schedule allows, but we do in fact need a permanent drummer to work with us all, so that we can continue to play live and do regular shows once more.

Thanks again for all your wonderful support and respect.
We’ll see you all again soon.

Gary Moore
Author: Tbone

I was shocked to hear about the death of Gary Moore.

I had taken Gary Moore cd's to guitar lessons when I started playing and I also used his "Still got the Blue's" album for guitar solo reference's on the CF Debut album.

My guitar teacher was Greg Franklin who toured with Gary Moore.

My all time favorite solo is "Walking by myself" by Gary Moore.

The only time that I have ever borrowed money from Family was to buy a gibson les paul which I still have and always will.

His playing has been a big Influence and his pull ups will sustain throughout eternity.

Crimsonfire's Louie Gorgievski with Empires of Eden

Reborn In Fire is the second album from EOE, featuring our very own Louie Gorgievski.

"While Empires of Eden has been created as a labour of passion by virtuoso Stu Marshal (Dungeon, Paindivision) the central philosophy is to give all the musicians as much freedom as they needed to produce the best work they are able to. Drawing on influences as diverse as Helloween, Gammaray, Iron Maiden through to Cacophany and Arch Enemy, “Empires” is a no compromise shred laden adventure that will excite guitar heads and metal fans alike"

Details of the album can be found here.

Quotes
Louie Gorgievski (Crimsonfire) impresses me the most, very much in the younger Bruce Dickinson mode on faster material like “Death Machine”
Matt Coe (IMHOTEP)

Louie Gorgievski (Crimsonfire) who also features on the first Empires of Eden release and on two other tracks on this album presents ‘Enter the Storm’ which is the main standout track for me. Suzanne Chenery (Rocktopia)

Louie’s powerful performance is something out of the ordinary here.
Gary Carson (Screaming Symphony)

Some of the musical highlights: Louie Gorgievski’s layered vocals and Marshall’s intense fretwork on “Enter The Storm”;
Joe Mis(HARDROCKHAVEN)
